The Student Development Council of Dr. NGP Arts and Science College conducted its Investiture Ceremony 2026 on Tuesday, formally inducting the newly elected Student Development Council members for the academic year 2026–2027.
The programme commenced with the welcome address by Saravanan, Principal of the college. The newly elected office-bearers of the Student Development Council were then introduced.
The council comprises student representatives from various departments who will serve in key leadership roles, including President, Vice President, General Secretary, Joint Secretaries, Executive Members, and other council representatives, coordinating academic, cultural, sports, welfare, discipline, technical, and outreach activities throughout the year.
Mathura V. Palaniswami, Trustee, Dr. NGP Research and Educational Trust (NGPRET), delivered the presidential address, highlighting the institution’s vision of holistic education and its commitment to empowering students through leadership opportunities and co-curricular activities. She appreciated the enthusiasm of the newly elected council members and encouraged them to uphold the values and traditions of the college.
The Chief Guest, Vaishnavee Subramaniam, Co-Chair, Yi YUVA Coimbatore, and Proprietor, PNK RBT Bus Transport, Tiruppur, encouraged the student leaders to embrace their responsibilities with dedication, develop leadership qualities, work collaboratively, and contribute positively to society. She emphasised that true leadership is built on humility, accountability, and service.
The highlight of the ceremony was the declaration of the council members followed by the oath-taking ceremony. Sreenitha, President of the Student Development Council, administered the oath, with the members pledging to uphold the values of integrity, commitment, teamwork, and service to the institution. She assured that the council would strive to organise meaningful programmes and promote active student engagement.
P.R. Muthusamy, Director of Academics, Dr. NGP Educational Institutions, delivered the felicitation address. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shanmugavadivu, Coordinator of the Student Development Council.
