Department of Emergency Medicine & Critical Care at Karpagam Hospital, Coimbatore, organised the “Ambulance Pilots Meet 2026” along with a Basic Life Support (BLS) and Trauma Care Training Program for ambulance pilots and emergency transport personnel from Palakkad district.
The program was inaugurated by Abbas Ali, Inspector of Police, Town South Police Station, Palakkad, and Faizal, Sub Inspector of Police, Traffic Enforcement Wing, Palakkad, who highlighted the vital role of ambulance personnel in saving lives during emergencies and road traffic accidents.
The event was chaired by Colonel Dr. Venkatesan, Medical Director of the Hospital, and Dr. Akhilan, Head – Critical Care Services.

Around 50 ambulance pilots from across the district participated in the program. Hands-on training in Basic Life Support (BLS) and trauma care was provided to all participants to strengthen emergency response skills and improve pre-hospital patient care.
Certificates were distributed to the participants following the training session. The initiative emphasised the importance of timely emergency care and coordinated trauma response in improving patient survival during critical situations.
