Hats off, nurses, for your discipline

-Dr. J.S. Bhuvaneswaran

Dr. J.S. Bhuvaneswaran, in his address, greeted the nurses and appreciated their dedication and discipline.

He said that around 1,600 nurses are currently serving under one roof at the hospital and noted that they have maintained high discipline.

“It is your day, a great day. You are playing a vital role in the healthcare system with dedication,” he said.

Recalling his 40 years of service at PSG, Dr. Bhuvaneswaran said the nurses had always been disciplined and dedicated. “Hats off to all of you,” he added.

He further said that the hospital’s Unique Selling Proposition (USP) lies in the service rendered by its doctors and nurses to patients. Appreciating their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic, he said the nurses had performed exceptionally well.

Referring to the new government in Tamil Nadu, Dr. Bhuvaneswaran said the State had entered an excellent phase. “Let us all support the new government for the well-being of the State,” he said.

Only nurses possess these qualities

-Dr. Subbarao

Dr. Subbarao, in his address, rephrased the day’s theme from “Our Nurses. Our Future” to “Our nurses are the strength of our past, present and future.”

He said nurses possess two important qualities — empathy and resilience — which only nurses have in the healthcare system.

He shared about Mary Seacole, the nurse who aided British soldiers during the Crimean War (1853–1856), and he said nurses should remember her contributions on Nurses Day.

Dr. Subbarao also said that the integration of PSG College of Nursing with the Department of Nursing Services at PSG Hospitals is a wonderful move.
