Siruthuli, a reputed NGO providing scientific solutions to environment-related challenges inaugurated the rejuvenated Phase 2 stretch of Masaorambu Stream recently with the CSR support of Titan .
Masaorambu is a perennial stream of River Noyyal located close to Thondamuthur. It was polluted and neglected prior to Siruthuli’s intervention. Last year, the NGO restored 5.7 km stretch of this stream with the support of Titan. With 7 refurbished check dams, Siruthuli increased its water holding capacity by 100 million liters, benefiting over 1,500 people across 9 villages and rejuvenating 3,700 acres of farmland, enabling the harvesting of nearly 100 million litres of water.

Building on this momentum, it began Phase 2 of the Masaorambu Restoration Project, focusing on a 1.2 km stretch at the foothills, where the stream has been thoroughly cleaned and desilted, and 2 additional check dams have been constructed to further strengthen water retention.
The rejuvenated Phase 2 stretch was inaugurated by Anil Chaudhry, Independent Director & Chairperson – CSR and Sustainability Committee of Titan, Swadesh Behera, Chief People Officer & Executive Vice President of Titan and Dominic, Head – Corporate Social Responsibility of Titan, in the presence of Vanitha Mohan, Managing Trustee, Siruthuli, along with Apex members and the Siruthuli team.
This initiative is set to significantly enhance water-holding capacity, improve groundwater recharge, and support agricultural productivity across the region. By restoring natural water availability, the project is expected to help mitigate the movement of elephants into farmlands, fostering greater harmony between communities and wildlife.
