Rotary Club of Coimbatore Metropolis and the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Crystals, in association with the Coimbatore Cancer Foundation and PSG Institute of Oncology, jointly organised “Make A Wish 2026” recently.
The event was dedicated to children battling cancer and their siblings. This year marked the second edition of the flagship project “Make A Wish”.
Dr. T. Balaji, Trustee, Coimbatore Cancer Foundation and Director, PSG Institute of Oncology; Rtn. Sheilendra Bhansali, Rotary President; Rtn. Rajkumar, Secretary; and Rtr. Nagul Yogendra, Rotaract President, along with Rtr. Shruthi, Secretary, graced the event.

The event was also attended by Chella K. Raghavendran, District Governor, Rotary District 3206; Rtn. Ajay Gupta, Assistant Governor; and members of the Rotary District Council.
The true highlight of the day was the children. Their wishes were fulfilled with immense love and care. Gifts were distributed to the young warriors and their siblings, making each child feel special, seen, and valued.
The venue came alive with laughter during a magic show by Shahul Breaker, as children watched in excitement and wonder, their faces lighting up with joy. Parents stood beside them, smiling as they saw their children momentarily forget their struggles and simply be children again.

The event also included the felicitation of guests and concluded with a vote of thanks by Rtr. Sneha, Event Chair, followed by high tea.
“The initiative traces its roots to the inspiration and efforts of Rtr. Bharkavi Poopathi, whose vision served as the spark for this meaningful project, is now growing into a cherished annual initiative.
Behind every smile was the dedication and effort of Rotary and Rotaract members who came together to make the event meaningful and memorable.

“Make A Wish 2026 – Let the Magic Happen” was not just an event; it was a celebration of courage, hope, and happiness, and a touch of magic that made the day truly unforgettable,” said the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Crystals in a press release.
