India ITME Society announced the successful completion of its first-ever Textile Engineering Industry Business Delegation to Indonesia, aimed at creating a structured platform for dialogue between Indian textile machinery manufacturers and the Indonesian textile industry.
The high-level delegation comprised major textile machinery segments, viz. Spinning (6), Weaving (1), Processing (6), Dyestuff & Chemicals (2), Handling & Packaging (1), and Association & Chamber (2).
A total of 18 companies and 23 delegates from India visited key industrial hubs in Indonesia to explore trade opportunities, technology partnerships, and long-term business collaborations.
The four-day delegation, held from April 12 to 16, 2026, covered two major textile cities in Indonesia, Bandung and Jakarta.
During the visit, the delegation engaged in various activities, including productive meetings with the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenperin), and prominent Indonesian textile manufacturers, industry associations, and trade bodies such as IndCham (India Indonesia Chamber of Commerce) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN).
The delegation also visited PT Sipatex Putri Lestari, Bandung, one of the leading integrated textile manufacturing companies, and attended the 22nd edition of Indo Intertex 2026 and Inatex 2026.
A special business seminar was organised in Bandung for focused interaction with prominent Indonesian industry leaders and the textile community. The session also witnessed participation from Indonesian media, which interviewed members of the Indian delegation.
The Indian TEI delegation met Sandeep Chakravorty, Ambassador of India to Indonesia, along with esteemed industry speakers and members, including Jemmy Kartiwa, API Chairman and President Director, PT Dhanar Mas Group; and David Leonardi, Vice-Chairman API and Operations Director, PT Sipatex Putri Lestari.
The delegation also included Agarwal, CEO, PT Embee Plumbon; Anil Tibrewal, CEO, PT Indorama Synthetics and PT Indorama Technologies; Ganesh Sethuraman, CEO, PT Kewalram Group; Rakesh Mittal, Head of Indorama Filament Division; Amit Baid, Head of Business Development, PT Asia Pacific Rayon; Vinayak Shandilya, Operational Director, PUM International; and Narendra Krishna Shandilya, Managing Director and Co-Founder, PT PUM UTAMA and PUM.
Speaking on the occasion, Ketan Sanghvi, Chairman of India ITME Society, said the delegation marks the beginning of a structured engagement programme with Indonesia and the broader ASEAN region.
He added that the initiative aligns with India’s vision of strengthening international trade relations and positioning Indian textile machinery manufacturers as reliable global partners.
