Coimbatore meteorologist Santhosh Krish has issued the weather forecast for April 1, 2026. Some areas may see moderate to heavy thunderstorms from April 4 in the Kongu region, but widespread rain is not expected until mid-April.
Coimbatore city is expected to see only hit-or-miss rain, with no major spells like the last rainfall event.
The eastern and northern parts of the Kongu belt are expected to get more rain. Overall, rainfall may still be limited because the proper wind pattern has not formed. These showers are caused by a western disturbance in northern India.
Krish said the second half of April and May could bring better chances of widespread thunderstorms. Temperatures are set to rise in the coming days, as April is the peak of summer in the Kongu belt, with relief expected only in May.
