VIT Mauritius in association with The Institution of Engineers and Scientists (IOES) organized Tech Ideathon 2026 – a virtual idea presentation hackathon recently. The competition is held to foster global collaboration and innovation.
The topics covered themes such as Education & Future of Learning; Social Impact & Community Empowerment; Cybersecurity & Digital Trust; AgriTech & Food Security; Future of Work & Productivity; Al for Everyday Life; Sustainable & Green Innovation; Healthcare & Well-Being; Smart Cities & Urban Living and FinTech & Financial Inclusion
The event saw more than 3500 innovative ideas submitted by 1,612 participants from 297 educational institution spread across 5 countries. – United States of America, India, The Philippines, Mauritius and Malaysia.
In the final round of the Ideathon, 200 teams presented their projects to a panel of judges comprising industry professionals and academics.
Participants who shared innovative ideas received expert feedback and mentorship from the judges, and top ideas were rewarded with exciting prizes. The promising ideas emerging from this competition will be guided toward future improvement and startup potential.
