Following the recent visit of Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol to Coimbatore, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu is set to visit Coimbatore to held discussion with officials and stakeholders with regards to the expansion of Coimbatore International Airport.

The Minister is expected to hold discussions on Feb.20th  in the morning, where he will discuss the steps needed to be taken to implement both the interim plan as well as the major plan that the city is awaiting.

Earlier this month, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol held discussions with airport officials at Coimbatore Airport recently on the progress of the 620+ acre expansion project and assured necessary support for its execution.

This is one of the long-awaited projects considered important for Coimbatore and Western TN’s development. Tamil Nadu government has already handed over 605 acres of land it had acquired for the project to Airports Authority of India. The expansion project includes establishing a new and larger integrated terminal, extending the current runway, building additional aerobridges and other essential service upgrades.
