DJ Academy of Design (DJAD), Coimbatore, in association with CII Young Indians (Yi), inaugurated “Let’s Talk! In Kovai,” a Coimbatore-based talk series, on 22 January 2026 at Mani Higher Secondary School. The event was supported by LMW.
The day’s talk, titled “Local Stories, Global Conversations,” was delivered by Suresh Eriyat, a pioneer of Indian animation.
He also screened his award-winning films and shared insights into the inspiration behind them, the creative process involved, and the motivations that shaped his work.
As part of the event, DJ Academy of Design unveiled its new logo, symbolising the institution’s evolving identity.
The logo was launched by Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, Chairman and Managing Director of LMW, along with Suresh Eriyat.
Lalitha Devi Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, Trustee, GKD Charity Trust, welcomed the gathering.
Vydianathan Ramaswami, Dean of the Academy; Michael, Member of the Governing Council of the Academy; members of CII Yi; and students of the Academy were present at the event.

Let’s Talk! In Kovai is a Coimbatore-based talk series curated to bring together visionary thinkers, experts and changemakers from across disciplines.
The series is one of several new initiatives by DJ Academy of Design aimed at building strong connections between industry, research and creative practice.
Featuring speakers from diverse fields such as social sciences, arts, science, environment, music, theatre and film, the series reflects the Academy’s commitment to holistic, socially relevant and industry-aligned education, while fostering a transdisciplinary learning environment for the benefit of the city of Coimbatore.
