VLB Janakiammal College of Arts and Science hosted VIVA YUVA 2025, an Inter-School Talent Fest for students of Grades 9–12, on the theme “Science and Technology for Smarter and Sustainable Wellness.”
Kadirvelu, Director, DRDO, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The celebrations commenced with a warm welcome address by Kalaivani, Principal of the college.

In his Presidential Address, Surya Kumar, Chairman, VLB Janakiammal Trust, emphasised the pivotal role of fostering scientific curiosity and nurturing innovation among the youth to build a sustainable and progressive future.
Delivering the Special Address, Brindha, Director of Academics & Research of the college, highlighted the college’s steadfast commitment to experiential learning and innovation-driven education.

A major highlight of the fest was the Grand Science Exhibition, which saw participation of over 1,200 students from 35 schools across Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts. The Chief Guest, along with Brindha and Kalaivani, viewed and appreciated the students’ model displays.
In his address, Kadirvelu combined scientific insights with a patriotic spirit, encouraging students to learn with honesty, curiosity, and a love for science.

He highlighted the important role of young people in shaping India’s technological growth and sustainable future. He praised the students’ projects related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and appreciated their creativity, technical skills, and innovative ideas.
Besides the exhibition, events such as art and craft, photography, painting and drawing, dance, flameless cooking, quiz, and elocution were also conducted. The event ended with the felicitation of young achievers who were recognised for their creativity and problem-solving abilities.
