The Department of Management (UG), in collaboration with the Department of Physics, organised a one-day Drone Workshop on 28th August 2025 under the DBT Star College Scheme, in association with Greentech Aviation.
The theme of the workshop was “Exploring the Future with Drones: A Hands-on Learning Experience.”
The event served as a platform for students, faculty members, and industry professionals to gain comprehensive insights into the fundamentals and emerging applications of drone technology.
The workshop featured hands-on training sessions, live demonstrations, and interactive discussions focusing on: Drone assembly and programming, Flight training and control mechanisms, Regulatory and safety aspects, and Real-world applications in agriculture, logistics, defence, and disaster management
Participants from various colleges in and around Coimbatore actively engaged in the sessions, making the program an enriching learning experience.
The workshop not only highlighted the technical skills required in drone operations but also emphasised the importance of policy, regulation, and ethical practices in this fast-evolving field.
The event was graced by Balasubramaniyan, Principal, and Suresh, Vice Principal & DBT Star College Scheme Coordinator, who appreciated the collaborative efforts of the departments and encouraged students to explore opportunities in drone-based industries.
