VLB Janakiammal College of Arts and Science created history by securing Second Place Overall in the Men’s Category with 38 points in the Bharathiar University Inter-Collegiate Sports and Games for the academic year 2025–2026.
This is the first time the college has achieved Overall Second Place in the university sports & Games, marking a historic milestone in the institution’s sporting journey. The achievement was officially announced during the Annual General Body Meeting of Bharathiar University held recently.
The college registered outstanding performances across various disciplines in the men’s category. The teams emerged as Runners-up in Athletics, Best Physique, Cross-Country, Football, and Swimming, clinched the Championship title in Handball, and secured Third Place in Chess and Kho-Kho.
This remarkable achievement reflects the students’ exceptional sporting talent, unwavering determination, disciplined training, and commendable team spirit. Their outstanding performances have brought immense pride to the institution and further strengthened its reputation in the university sports arena, said the college in a press release.
The management of VLB Janakiammal College of Arts and Science; Chairman Surya Kumar, Secretary & CEO Jaishree Suryakumar; Principal Kumar; and Director of Academics & Research Brindha, congratulated the student athletes, coaches, and the Department of Physical Education for this historic accomplishment.
