Ukkadam’s Hyper park recently inaugurated in collaboration with Start India Foundation, Asian Paints, Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation, Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board (TNUHDB), RAAC (Residents Awareness Association of Coimbatore).
Coimbatore Vizha marking a significant milestone in the heart of Ukkadam against the backdrop of the iconic Ukkadam Art Project.
Focusing on re-engaging with the community, the Hyper Park is a multipurpose park focusing on creating a permanent solution for the lack of quality open space in the heart of Ukkadam, a largely rehabilitated area. The park is built using sustainable materials and upcycled construction.
Team Coimbatore Vizha launched Coimbatore Vizha’s Art Street after the Hyper Park was opened. This marks the first official event held in Ukkadam’s Hyper Park.
Kranthi Kumar Pati, IAS, District Collector of Coimbatore, inaugurated this park in the presence of Arun Senthilnathan, Coimbatore Vizha – Chair; Saumya, Coimbatore Vizha – Co-Chair; Vikas & Tanish, Start India – Founders; R. Sundar, Joint Managing Trustee, SNR Sons Charitable Trust and Ravindran from RAAC.
Vizha Art Street will be held on 30th November and 1st December 2024 in Scheme Road, Race Course. This year, Art Street will feature an array of artistic expressions, with stalls showcasing everything from contemporary art to traditional crafts.
Artists from all over are welcome to sign up, offering 60,000+ visitors a diverse and colourful experience. From live painting sessions to unique installations, the event promises to be a feast for the senses, drawing inspiration from both local culture and international trends.
