The Departments of Textile Technology and Automobile Engineering at PSG College of Technology, in collaboration with PSG TECHS COE INDUTECH, are jointly organising the Sixth International Conference on Industrial Textiles- Products, Applications, and Prospects (InduTech 2025) on 11th and 12th December 2025 at the college.

The conference was inaugurated today, 11th December 2025, with the release of a souvenir by the inaugural chief guest, Ashwin Chandran, Chairman and Managing Director of Precot Limited and Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry, and the Guest of Honour, Ashok Kumar Malhotra, Mission Director, National Technical Textiles Mission, Ministry of Textiles, New Delhi.

Thilagavathi, Head, Department of Textile Technology, delivered the welcome address.

Prasad Potluri, Director, Northwest Composites Centre, University of Manchester, UK, presided over the inaugural session.

This conference is being organised in association with the Northwest Composites Centre, University of Manchester (UK), the Institute for Frontier Materials, Deakin University, Australia, and the Hof University of Applied Sciences, Germany.

The conference aims to promote international collaboration, interdisciplinary research, and innovation in the field of industrial and technical textiles.

The conference will feature 21 plenary speakers from leading research organisations and industries across Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, the Czech Republic, and India.

In addition, experts from technical textile industries and research institutions will present their findings through plenary, oral, and poster sessions, with an expected participation of 300-400 delegates.

Deliberations at the conference are expected to foster innovation, new product development, and entrepreneurship in the technical textiles sector.

InduTech 2025 promises to be a platform for knowledge exchange, innovation, and collaboration, bringing together experts from academia, research institutions, and industry to shape the future of industrial textiles.

Department of Textile Technology’s Diamond Jubilee

This year’s conference inauguration also marks a historic milestone as the Department of Textile Technology celebrates its Diamond Jubilee (60 years), with a special curtain-raiser program to commemorate the occasion.

Devadas Damodarasamy, President-Director, Texcoms Worldwide and a distinguished alumnus of the 1976 batch, will be presenting the objectives and vision of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.

Senior alumni of the textile department Lakshminarayanaswamy (1972 batch), Managing Director, Sri Ramakrishna Mills; Srinivasan (1983 batch), Managing Director, Premier Mills Private Limited; Karuppusamy (1971 batch), Sriramulu (1970 batch), Mounagurusamy (1972 batch), Dorai Palanisamy, Chairman-SIMA (1996 batch), is one of the notable alumni attending the program.

About PSG TECHS COE INDUTECH

PSG TECHS COE INDUTECH is one of the eight centres of excellence, promoted by the Ministry of Textiles, focusing on Industrial and Home Textiles.

The centre has helped several industries in the south to develop a range of products in filtration textiles, thermal insulation materials, acoustic insulation products, and face masks.

The centre uses natural fibres such as coir, jute, flax and recycled fibres for product development in association with industry.

The centre provides technical support, product development, and incubation services to industry partners.
