The three-day International Conference on “Future-Ready Farming: Climate-Smart and Resilient Agricultural Solutions (ICFRF-2026)” commenced today at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU).

The conference is being organized from 8–10 July 2026 under the DST Centre of Excellence on Climate and Disaster Resilient Agriculture (DST-CoE-CDRA) by Agro Climate Research Centre, TNAU.

Balasubramaniam, Principal Investigator of the DST-CoE-CDRA Scheme and Director (ODL), TNAU, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the objectives of the conference.

Geethalakshmi, Former Vice-Chancellor, TNAU and Conference Chair, presented the conference theme, emphasizing the need for integrated climate-smart agricultural solutions to build resilient farming systems.

The conference was inaugurated by Subramaniyan, Acting Vice-Chancellor, TNAU, who emphasized the importance of climate-resilient and technology-driven agriculture to ensure sustainable food production under changing climatic conditions.

A total of 281 participants, including students, scientists, research fellows, industry representatives, and other stakeholders, are participating in the conference. Delegates represent 5 countries, 15 states across India and 33 universities, research institutes, industries, and organizations.

The inaugural session was graced by Vaseeharan, General Manager, NABARD, Chennai; Pazhanivelan, Director (Crop Management), TNAU; and Shaik Meera, Director, ATARI, Hyderabad, who delivered felicitation addresses.

The keynote address was delivered by Vijaya Gopal Kakani, Professor, University of Florida, USA, highlighting global perspectives on digital intelligence in agriculture and resilient food production systems.

The Book of Abstracts Compendium of the conference was released during the inaugural function. Eminent scientists and distinguished guests were honoured for their outstanding contributions to agricultural research and climate resilience.

The inaugural programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Sathyamoorthy, Head, Agro Climate Research Centre, TNAU.
