At the recently held National Youth Biodiversity Conference 2025, organized by the Telangana Biodiversity Board, Government of Telangana, two representatives from Tamil Nadu, Nagul Yogendra and Hari Srinavasan, were honoured by Jishnu Dev Varma, Governor of Telangana.
The conference took place at Kanha Shanti Vanam, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana, from February 20 to 22, 2025.
Students from Jain (Deemed-to-be University), School of Sciences, representing various regions across India, actively participated in the event, demonstrating their dedication to biodiversity conservation and sustainability.
Nagul Yogendra and Hari Srinavasan were selected by the Government of Telangana to represent Tamil Nadu at this prestigious event. As part of the Hyderabad Declaration, they actively engaged in key discussions on biodiversity protection, sustainable development, and youth involvement in ecological initiatives. Their insights and commitment to raising awareness among young individuals were well-recognized at the conference.
In recognition of their outstanding contributions to biodiversity conservation and their active participation in the conference, both students were felicitated by the Governor of Telangana. Additionally, they had the opportunity to interact with Konda Surekha, Minister of Endowments, Environment & Forests, Government of Telangana, further strengthening their commitment to environmental advocacy.
They also met Dusharla Satyanarayana, known as the “Green Heart of India,” and Rahibai Soma Popere, a Padma Shri awardee, both of whom have made remarkable contributions to environmental conservation and sustainable agriculture. These interactions provided valuable insights and inspiration for their continued efforts in biodiversity conservation.
