Suburban Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Ramnagar, recently celebrated World Environment Day with a series of activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness and responsibility among students and the community.
The programme was inaugurated by Principal Hema Karthik, who highlighted the importance of keeping the Earth clean and green. In her address, she emphasised that every individual has a responsibility towards protecting the environment and urged students to take an active role in spreading awareness about environmental conservation among the public.
As part of the celebrations, she flagged off the “Eco Warriors Plastic Clean-Up Drive,” during which students collected plastic waste from roads and public areas in the school neighbourhood.

Students presented an environmental awareness song conveying the message of protecting nature. They also delivered speeches on environmental conservation and displayed charts highlighting various environmental issues to educate the public.
Students and teachers took a pledge to safeguard the environment and work towards sustainable practices. Medicinal plant saplings were distributed to parents and police personnel as a gesture to encourage greenery and environmental stewardship.
