Society for Smart E-Mobility (SSEM), an association with an interest in working & contributing to developing future mobility solutions, in mark of “World Electric Vehicle (EV) Day will organise its flagship event, the fourth edition of Electric Vehicles Roadshow and Rally, on 9th Sep. 2025 at the Race Course.
The rally will start and finish at the Income Tax (IT) Office, Race Course, Coimbatore, and aimed to create awareness of EVs among the general public. This time, after the Rally, all the vehicles will be displayed at PRS Grounds (Opposite to: RTO Office), Dr Balasundaram Road, Coimbatore for the general public visit.
Pawankumar Giriyappanavar, Coimbatore District Collector, has kindly agreed to inaugurate and flag off the rally. Saravana Sundar, Police Commissioner, Coimbatore and Sivaguru Prabakaran, Corporation Commissioner, Coimbatore, also agreed to join as Guests of Honour.
Other senior industrialists and the patrons of SSEM, including Ramasamy, Chairman Roots Group of Companies; Anand, Managing Director, Jayem Automotives; Hemalatha Annamalai, Founder & Vice Chairperson, Green Coller Agritech Solutions; and Shankar Vanavarayar, President, Kumaraguru Institutions, will join the event.
Also, the heads of SSEM, including Senthilkumar, President, and Managing Director, Propel Industries; Chandrasekar, Founder Trustee and Vice President, and Corporate Director, Roots Group of Companies; Vasantharaj, Founder Trustee, and Director, KCIRI, Kumaraguru College of Technology; Barathan, Treasurer, and Founder, Ozotec Automobiles; and Sasikumar, Secretary, and General Manager, Jayem Automotives, will also attend the event.
The members of the SSEM, including Sudhakar, Executive Committee Member, and Managing Director, Surya Batteries; Sivasankari, Executive Committee Member, and Founder, AR4 Tech; and Mohanasundram, Executive Committee Member & HoD, Department of EEE, KPR College of Engineering & Technology; and Manoharan, Executive Director, will join the Roadshow and Rally.
The expected number of vehicles is more than 50-60 vehicles (2W / 3W / 4W) and more than 200 members/non-members from Coimbatore (including senior industrialists, general public and students) to join the Roadshow and Rally.
About World EV Day
World EV Day is observed on September 9 every year. The day marks the celebration of e-mobility. Special awareness campaigns are organised globally to educate people about the benefits of electric vehicles.
World EV Day was an initiative created by a sustainability media company, Green. TV. The first World EV Day was observed in 2020. It was largely a social media campaign that encouraged drivers to recognise the benefits of electric vehicles and make a commitment that the next car they drive will be electric and not run on conventional fuels.
