Sri Ramakrishna Hospital’s Institute of Oncology and Research inaugurated a state-of- the-art 60-bed general ward today at the hospital.

The new facility is designed to provide advanced care and specialised support for patients undergoing cancer treatment.

The ward was formally inaugurated by Sundar Ramakrishnan, Managing Trustee of SNR Sons Charitable Trust.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Guhan, Director of Sri Ramakrishna Institute of Oncology and Research, emphasised the importance of accessible care.

“In oncology, immediate access to treatment, personalised attention, and holistic care are vital. With this new 60-bed facility, we can offer a high-standard healthcare environment for patients receiving chemotherapy and other treatments.

This is a significant step forward in boosting patient confidence and improving recovery outcomes,” he said.

The event was attended by Narendran, Joint Managing Trustee; Ramkumar, CEO;  Maheshkumar, Chief Administrative Officer; Dr. Rajagopal, Medical Director; and Dr. Alagappan, Medical Superintendent.

The launch of this modern ward is viewed as a major milestone in expanding cancer care infrastructure in Coimbatore, ensuring that quality treatment remains accessible to a wider section of the public.
