SMFG India Credit Strengthens CSR Initiatives in Tamil Nadu

SMFG India Credit continues its unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Tamil Nadu, positively impacting lives through initiatives focused on women’s livelihood enhancement, primary healthcare, financial literacy animal welfare and community support.

Over the years, the company has introduced and expanded several key programs in Tamil Nadu.

Under Nirmaya, the primary healthcare services program, SMFG have 3 Mobile Health Vans operating in Tamil Nadu which provide essential medical services to underserved communities. Under this program the SMFG have provided medical support to over 1,40,000 people in Tamil Nadu over the last three years.

SMFG India Credit also actively promotes sustainable agriculture and environmental conservation through its Krishi Mitra initiative, which has educated over 22,000 farmers in Tamil Nadu on organic farming, sustainable agriculture practices and agri marketing over the past three years.

Pashu Vikas Day the flagship cattle care program has benefited approximately 30,000 cattle in Tamil Nadu over the past two years. The initiative has received notable recognitions, such as The World Records Union.

Furthering our commitment to rural communities, 1CSR1, our employee-centric initiative, has benefited over 42,000 people in Tamil Nadu through skill development and donations. Under this program we have also provided flood relief by distributing relief material to flood victims over the years.
