Rathinam International Public School (RPS) celebrated its Annual Sports Day 2024 at the campus, recently.
The meet was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest Pradeep Rajkumar, a renowned athlete and international medallist and the Guest of Honour, Raman Vijayan, Director, Rathinam Sports.
The chief guest encouraged students to embrace sports as a way of life, citing his own experiences and achievements. He also distributed prizes to the winners and participants.
The sports meet was presided over by Shima Sendhil, Director, Rathinam Groups and Manickam, CEO, Rathinam Institutions, who emphasized the importance of sports in shaping young minds and promoting overall development.
The other esteemed guests at the event were Dr. Karthikeyan, Principal, Rathinam College of Physiotherapy and Dr. Roshini Karthikeyan, Vice Principal, Rathinam College of Physiotherapy.
Ashmi Sherif, Principal, Rathinam International Public School welcomed the gathering and highlighted the school’s achievements in sports and encouraged students to strive for excellence.
The four houses at the sports meet were Ekta, Jatan, Shristi, and Yukthi. The sports events included: Track and field events (100m, 200m, 400m and relay races), team sports (Karate, Silambam, Zumba and Drill) and Fun games for parents.
The event was attended by over 800 students, parents, and staff members. Students from various age groups participated with zeal, demonstrating their skills and teamwork. Overall points of the four houses: Ekta- 391, Jatan- 294, Shrishti- 437 and Yukthi- 361.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Abinaya Shankari, Head of Operations, RPS, acknowledging the support of parents, and staff in making the Annual sports meet a resounding success.
