The Rotary Club of Coimbatore, RI District 3206, in association with COINDIA, recently conducted Project SKILLFORGE – Distribution of Course Certificates and Placement Offers at the SIEMA Building on Race Course Road, Coimbatore.
Certificates were distributed to candidates who had recently completed vocational skill training programmes. The initiative aimed at promoting industry-driven skill development and employment-linked training for youth.
The welcome address was delivered by Vignesh, Managing Director, Ellen Industries and President, COINDIA, who highlighted the importance of industry-led vocational training and its role in ensuring sustainable employment opportunities.
The Chief Guest, Rtn. MD Varadharajan, District Director, commended the club and COINDIA for effectively translating vocational training into assured employment, thereby creating long-term social impact.
Rtn. Chitra Manohar, President of the club and Director, Nuscript Data Solutions, addressed the gathering and spoke about the impact of Project SKILLFORGE and Rotary’s continued commitment to empowering youth through sustainable livelihood initiatives.
An address on the execution of the project was delivered by Rajaji, Head – Training and Development, COINDIA, who explained the structured training methodology and industry collaboration that enabled successful placement outcomes.
A key highlight of the event was the distribution of course certificates and placement orders to 50 candidates who had successfully completed the vocational skill training programmes.
This was followed by a felicitation address by Rtn. MPHF Jayakandhan, Assistant Governor, who appreciated the leadership of the Club President and the project team, and emphasized that initiatives like SKILLFORGE reflect Rotary’s strength in partnering with industry to deliver sustainable outcomes.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Rtn. Bina, Secretary of the club. The event was powered by Sri Mahalakshmi Dairy (Aroma Milk).
