The Rotaract Club of Western Valley recently renovated the Sowripalayam Public Library. This renovation was aligned with the government’s plan to uplift educational resources for local communities.
As part of this initiative, over 10,000 books and 20 storage racks were shifted from the basement to the first floor to improve accessibility and enhance the reading environment for students.
The upgraded library now serves as a resource centre for aspiring candidates preparing for government exams and higher education.
The renovation work included organising and setting up the racks, improving the reading space, and ensuring a student-friendly atmosphere.
An installation ceremony was conducted following the renovation, marking a new beginning for the library.
“This initiative stands as a shining example of youth-led community service, and we look forward to supporting many such meaningful projects in the future,” stated the club.
