A two-day International Conference on “Emerging Trends in Smart Urban Development and Intelligent Mobility” was organised under the AICTE-VAANI Scheme with a sponsorship of Rs. 2 lakhs, received by Karthikeyan, Assistant Professor, Computer Science, and Aravindh, Assistant Professor, Biotechnology.

The event was held on 6th and 7th August 2025 at the Rathinam Auditorium, Techzone Campus, Coimbatore.

The second day of the conference featured a diverse and accomplished panel of guest speakers from academia and industry.

Dhinesh, Application Developer at Zoho Corp, explored Intelligent Public Transport Systems tailored for rural and semi-urban Tamil regions. Adding to the interdisciplinary depth, Surendran, Founder and CEO of SKS Skill Fasteners, shared compelling case studies on urban development from Tamil-speaking regions, showcasing local innovation and scalability.

Gunasekaran Thangavel, Professor of ECE at the University of Technology & Applied Sciences, Muscat, emphasised the importance of Tamil as a medium for technical communication, underlining its potential in mainstream education and research.

The conference also included technical sessions and paper presentations in both Tamil and English. Over 100 participants, including faculty members, research scholars, and industry professionals, attended the event, showcasing and discussing their work across various themes related to urban planning, AI applications, intelligent mobility systems, and linguistic inclusivity in education.
