The Department of Management, Rathinam College of Arts and Science, organised Indian Philosophers’ Day Lecture Series on the theme “Integrating Indian Philosophies in Education and Leadership” with the sponsorship of the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), New Delhi, on 14th July 2025.

The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Kousalya Devi, Head, Department of Management, delivered the welcome address.

The heads of Rathinam Group of Institutions graced the occasion including Madhan Sendhil, Chairman, Shima Sendhil, Director, and Manickam, CEO of Rathinam College of Arts and Science, offered their felicitations and expressed their support for integrating philosophical insights into higher education.

Balasubramanian, Principal of the college presided over the function. He highlighted the contemporary significance of Indian philosophies in shaping holistic education and ethical leadership.

More than 25 colleges from across Tamil Nadu participated in the workshop. Students and faculty members actively contributed to the academic discourse.

Many of them submitted their contextual interpretations and research insights related to Indian philosophies, which were peer-reviewed and compiled into an Edited Book Chapter Volume that was published as part of the event, and it was released by the Principal.

The workshop featured eminent scholars who delivered thought-provoking lectures:

Raju, Assistant Professor, Bharathidasan University, spoke on the Foundation of Indian Philosophies, elaborating on systems such as Vedanta, Sankhya, Yoga, Nyaya, Buddhism, and Jainism. He emphasized core concepts like Dharma, Karma, Atman, and Moksha and their integration into educational practices.

Bharani, Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy, Annamalai University, presented on Indian Philosophy and Pedagogical Approaches, stressing the value of ethics, mindfulness, dialogue-based learning, and curriculum integration with critical thinking, drawn from Indian texts and methods.

Thanigaivelan, Assistant Professor, Department of Philosophy, Annamalai University, shared Practical Applications and Case Studies illustrating the implementation of Indian philosophical principles in education and leadership.

Sunil Kumar, Assistant Professor, GITAM School of Business, GITAM (Deemed to be University), Visakhapatnam, delivered a session on Leadership and Indian Wisdom, bridging classical philosophy with modern leadership frameworks.

The workshop concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Anithashree, Assistant Professor, Department of Management.
