Flight Cadet Delphia (24BPH009) of 2 TN AIR Squadron NCC, a II B.Sc. Physics student of PSG College of Arts & Science, was among the selected cadets who recently participated in the NCC Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026, representing the Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andaman & Nicobar (TNP & AN) Directorate.

The prestigious camp brought together 2,361 cadets from all 28 States and eight Union Territories across the country. Of these, 127 cadets were selected from the TNP & AN Directorate following a rigorous, multi-stage selection process conducted at the unit, group, and directorate levels.

During the camp, Flight Cadet Delphia had the rare honour of interacting with several distinguished dignitaries. She was selected to attend the Raksha Mantri Dinner held at the Cariappa Centre. She also participated in the ‘At Home’ receptions hosted by Admiral Dinesh Kumar Tripathi, Chief of Naval Staff, and Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, Director General NCC.

Further highlighting her exemplary conduct and merit, she had the privilege of attending a Tea Party with General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defence Staff; General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff; Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, Chief of Air Staff; and Rajesh Kumar Singh, Defence Secretary, marking a significant moment of interaction with the senior-most leadership of the Indian Armed Forces.

At the Flag Area, Delphia briefed visiting delegates on the displays, clearly explaining their concepts, symbolism, and national significance. Her presentations were noted for their clarity, confidence, and precision.

In recognition of her exceptional performance, she received a Mark of Distinction from General Upendra Dwivedi during one of her briefings. Her composed and confident demeanour reflected the high standards of training, discipline, and professionalism upheld by the Directorate at RDC 2026.

In addition to her academic and briefing responsibilities, Flight Cadet Delphia actively participated in the Cultural Ballet performance and competed in the Best Cadet Competition. The Directorate secured the Gold Medal in Ballet and achieved All-India third place in culturals, contributing significantly to the overall excellence and prestige of the Directorate at RDC 2026.

Recently, the Deputy Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu felicitated the NCC cadets of the TNP & AN Directorate who earned accolades at the Republic Day Camp.
