PSG & Sons’ Charities will host Kadambari, a music festival dedicated to celebrating Carnatic music and fostering its tradition among students. The event was announced during a press meet on 28th December 2024.

Kadambari is a four-day fest which will held from 2nd January to 5th January 2025 at PSGIMSR auditorium from 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm and entry is free for the public.
At the press meet, Bhuvaneswaran announced that, to inculcate a culture of music among students and young individuals, PSG has been organizing this music festival since 2016. He added that this marks the 9th year of the event.
The director highlighted that the fest will begin on 2nd January, with the first day featuring Raga Pravagam, a light music performance by the students of PSG Institutions. The inaugural day will be graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. Chandrasekar, Chairman of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery & Director of Cardiac Transplant Services, GKNM Hospital.
On the second day, the fest will present Arangama Nagarulane, a musical program by students of PSG schools, followed by a contemporary fusion music performance by Sai Vignesh and his team, renowned for Varaha Roopam.
The third day will showcase Kannanum Kandhanum, a classical dance program performed by students of PSG Institutions, followed by Krishna Tharangam, a classical music concert by the US Sai Sisters, as noted by the director.
On the final day, the event will feature Swarna Sangeeth, a Carnatic music program by the Department of Carnatic Music at PSG College of Arts and Science. This will be followed by a performance by singer Spoorthi Rao. The final day’s Chief Guest, Kalaimamani Madurai GS Mani, a renowned Carnatic musician, will confer the Yuva Kala Ratna Award to Spoorthi Rao.
Vijeyajaya shared that around 400 to 500 applications have been circulated among PSG students for the Best Performer Award in Carnatic singing, and the best student will be rewarded in the fest. She emphasized that featuring young performers will inspire students and promote Carnatic music among the younger generation. Suresh Kumar added that the fest provides a platform to encourage budding singers.
The entire fest will be telecast on PSG’s YouTube channel and through PSG’s FM platform. Attendees can scan the QR code below and click (scan QR code) to secure a special pass for the event. Additionally, stalls selling musical items and eatables will be set up outside the auditorium.
