As part of the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of PSG College of Technology and the Centenary Year celebrations of PSG & Sons’ Charities, a 30-hour continuous hackathon on the theme “Collaborative Robots” is being held on January 3 and 4, 2026, at the PSG Tech Indoor Basketball Court in collaboration with Ericsson Research India, Chennai.
The hackathon commenced in the presence of Nadarajan, Dean of Placement and Training; Saravanan, Principal Researcher, Ericsson; Krishnaveni, Head, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering; Vinod, Head, Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering; and Sudha Sadasivam, Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

A total of 33 teams are participating in the preliminary round by submitting proposals for five challenging real-world problem statements released by Ericsson. Based on innovation, feasibility, and relevance, 15 teams have been shortlisted for the grand finale to build and demonstrate their solutions during the hackathon.
The solutions are being evaluated by a distinguished panel of experts from Ericsson Research India, led by Saravanan, along with Senior Researchers Satheesh Kumar Perepu and Karthick.
The hackathon is offering exceptional opportunities for students, as the most innovative teams will be awarded a three-month summer internship with Ericsson Research India. It also provides a prestigious opportunity to present their work at the Ericsson Pavilion during the India Mobile Congress 2026 in New Delhi.
