PSG Hospitals inaugurated three state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging technologies at the Department of Radiology, marked by a special pooja ceremony.

The new technologies include Siemens Somatom Drive CT Scanner, Samsung GC 85A Digital X-ray System, and GE Lunar Prodigy Bone Mineral Densitometry (BMD).

The inauguration was graced by several dignitaries, including: L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG & Sons’ Charities; Dr. Subba Rao, Principal, PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research; Dr. Bhuvaneswaran, Director, PSG Hospitals; Dr. Balaji, Director, PSG Institute of Oncology; Jaganathan, General Manager – Administration; Dr. Karthikeyan, Medical Superintendent, Clinical Services; Dr. Varunn, Medical Superintendent; and Devanand, Head, Department of Radiology.

The Siemens Somatom Drive CT Scanner features Dual Source, Dual Energy technology, enabling faster scan times and high-resolution imaging with reduced radiation exposure, significantly improving diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.

The Samsung GC 85A Digital X-ray System delivers high-quality digital imaging and enhances workflow efficiency, ultimately improving patient care.

The GE Lunar Prodigy BMD measures bone mineral density and also provides insights into fat distribution and overall body composition.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Devanand highlighted the significance of these upgrades, emphasising their role in strengthening the hospital’s radiology services and enabling faster, more accurate diagnoses for a wide range of conditions.
