Nehru Institute of Technology (NIT) conducted its 12th Graduation ceremony at the campus, recently.
The ceremony was graced by Krishnakumar, CEO & Secretary, Nehru Group of Institutions and Kadirvelu, Scientist G, DEBEL-DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India, Associate Director, DRDO, Coordinator, DRDO Industry Academia Centre of Excellence (DIA CoE), Bharathiar University Campus, Coimbatore, the Chief Guest and Nagaraja, Executive Director, Academics & Administration.
A total of 70 graduates have received their degrees from various faculties of UG and PG Programs such as Aeronautical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Master of Business Administration.
Sivaraja, Principal of the institute has delivered the welcome address and annual report under different aspects such as institutional ranking, autonomous and accreditation status, Institute – Industry collaborations, performance in academics, co-curricular activities and extracurricular activities by the students, contribution by faculty members in journals, patents and book chapter publications, participations in FDP/ Workshop/ Seminar/ Conference.
Kathriveluin in his graduation address congratulates and wishes all graduates to have a prosperous career for supporting the nation through research and development in thrust areas of engineering and technology.
He remembered the dedicated contribution of former president A P J Abdul Kalam in the development of different missiles such as ballistic, surface-to-surface, surface-to-air and Brahmos aerospace.
He added that, without the vital support of engineers, there cannot be any technological breakthroughs a country can see.
Gobi Shankar, 17th rank out of 425 candidates of Anna University, Chennai was honoured by the chief guest with a gold medal, rank and degree certificate followed by other graduates.
