The Department of Biomedical Engineering, Dr. NGP Institute of Technology (NGP iTech), Coimbatore, recently inaugurated the GATE Forum 2026 and Experience Sharing Session.

The objective of the Forum was to encourage and guide aspiring students toward successful GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) preparation.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Nedumal Pugazhenthi, Assistant Professor (Senior Grade), Department of Biomedical Engineering.

He highlighted the importance of early planning, consistent effort, and the relevance of GATE in shaping future academic and professional careers.

Following this, Praveen Chakravarthy, Professor and Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, presented an overview of GATE Forum 2026, including a brief report on the activities and achievements of GATE Forum 2025.

His presentation underscored the steady progress and increased participation of students in GATE initiatives over the past year.

The inauguration address was delivered by Prabha, Principal of the Institute. In her address, she emphasised the value of national-level competitive exams like GATE and the institute’s commitment to providing a supportive environment for students to excel.

The forum also witnessed the release of GATE preparatory materials, specially curated by the department to assist students in structured preparation.

The most inspiring part of the event was the Experience Sharing and Interaction Session, held virtually through Google Meet.

Two recent achievers of GATE 2025 –Keerthana (AIR 283) and Shree Rajam (AIR 328) – interacted with the audience and shared their preparation strategies, time management tips, resource suggestions, and the challenges they overcame to secure top All India Ranks.

Their sessions motivated the current batch of students and provided valuable practical insights into cracking the exam.

The event concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by Thiruvengadam, Assistant Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering.

The event proved to be a highly informative and motivating platform, especially for the second, third and final-year students aspiring to appear for GATE 2026.
