The Department of Biomedical Engineering, Dr NGP Institute of Technology, in collaboration with Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH), organized MEDZEST’ 25, a national workshop titled “Hands-on Training and Quality Control of Medical Equipment.”

The event aimed to provide participants with practical exposure to advancements in medical technology and quality assurance.

Praveen Chakkravarthy, Head of Department, Biomedical Engineering, of the college delivered the welcome address.

Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami, Chairman, KMCH, gave the presidential address, he emphasized the critical role of biomedical engineers in shaping the future of healthcare and highlighted the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation and technical expertise among students.

The event featured insightful sessions by Sivakumaran, Chief Operating Officer of the hospital; Muthuswamy, Director, Academics, and Prabha, Principal of the institute who addressed the latest advancements in medical technology and industry needs.

The workshop included hands-on training sessions in collaboration with leading medical technology firms such as Philips, Olympus, Fresenius Medical Care, and SKAT, offering participants valuable technical exposure.

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 120 students and professionals across Tamil Nadu and neighbouring states, reinforcing the growing interest in biomedical engineering and healthcare technology.

The event served as a knowledge-sharing platform, equipping participants with essential industry skills and strengthening their expertise in medical equipment quality control.
