The Election Commission of India – Coimbatore District, in association with Puthiya Thalaimurai Television and Rathinam College of Arts and Science, organised an election awareness programme titled “My Nation, My Vote” recently at SIDCO, Sundarapuram, Pollachi Road, Coimbatore.
The programme was conducted to promote 100% voter turnout in view of the upcoming Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Elections – 2026, and to create awareness among the public on the importance of exercising their right to vote.
The event was inaugurated in the presence of Pavankumar Giriyappanavar, District Collector of Coimbatore, and Sivaguru Prabhakaran, Corporation Commissioner, who graced the occasion as chief guests.

Manickam, Chief Executive Officer and Secretary of Rathinam Group of Institutions, presided over the function and emphasized the significance of voting as a fundamental democratic responsibility.
The programme was attended by Balasubramanian – Principal; Suresh – Vice Principal, and Sabarish – Dean (Research & Development) of the college.
The highlight of the programme included cultural performances, awareness skits, songs, and a public rally, through which students and volunteers conveyed the importance of voting, election guidelines, and responsible civic participation to the general public.
Awareness was also created about the use of the CVIGIL App, introduced by the Election Commission of India, for reporting election-related violations in real time.

A large number of students from the National Service Scheme (NSS) and National Cadet Corps (NCC) actively participated in the programme and led the awareness rally successfully. Around 1200 students took part in the event, making it a grand success.
The programme concluded with a strong message encouraging all eligible voters to exercise their franchise and uphold the spirit of democracy with the slogan, “My Vote, My Right.”
