In 2020, Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd., a subsidiary of Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries bought Coimbatore-based Shri Kannan Departmental Store Pvt Ltd. 29 stores in Coimbatore and surrounding areas became a part of the Reliance Retail.

In 2025, Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries purchased Udhaiyam Agro Foods Pvt Ltd., a three-decade old TN brand known for pulses, snacks and spices.

Now, RCPL has acquired Southern Health Foods Private Ltd, a company from Tamil Nadu that is behind the famous Manna Health Mix and other Manna-range of healthy foods and drinks.

Southern Health Foods Private Limited is key player in several health focused foods categories like packaged healthy foods including millets, oats, multi-grain products, health mikes, breakfast cereals, dry fruits, among others. Its flagship brand Manna is widely known for its healthy offerings in many emerging packaged foods categories like millet flour, baby foods and multigrain drink mix.

T. Krishnakumar, Director, Reliance Consumer Products Limited, said, Manna is one of the most trusted names in the health focused foods market in Tamil Nadu with noticeable presence in the adjoining states. It is known for healthy offerings like millet-based staples and mixes, drinks and baby food.

“Apart from adding muscle to RCPL’s packaged foods portfolio. Manna’s addition will help us serve consumers the best nutritious food. With our strong distribution R&D and supply chain capabilities, Manna would be made available in other geographies-eventually making it a household name across the country,” he said in a statement.
