The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has announced an increase in the supply of Free Trade LPG cylinders for migrant labourers.

As part of the initiative, the daily quantity of 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinders allocated to migrant labourers in each state will be doubled. The increase is based on the average daily supply recorded between March 2 and 3, 2026.

These cylinders are to be used exclusively for migrant labourers and will be placed at the disposal of state governments and their respective food and civil supplies departments.

The directive has been issued by Neeraj Mittal, Secretary, Government of India.
