Southern India Mills Association (SIMA) is set to organize its 15th edition of TexFair – an international textile machinery exhibition in the city this weekend.

Held as a biennial event, Texfair is considered as one of India’s largest fairs for textile machinery, spares, accessories and innovation.  According to SIMA’s Chairman, Durai Palanisamy, the fair will be held from March 6th to 9th at CODISSIA Trade Fair Complex from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

240 exhibitors are set to showcase their products, innovations and services at the fair.  Close to 1 lakh visitors are expected to attend this 4-day event.  Besides Coimbatore, textile manufacturers from various part of India including Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and other nations including Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Egypt are expected to participate in the fair.

P.R. Venketrama Raja, Chairman, Managing Director, Ramco Group will be inaugurating the fair. Ashwin Chandran, Chairman, Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) will preside over the inaugural. S. Suresh Babuji, Director, MSME Ministry will be the chief guest.

Prashant Agarwal, Joint Managing Director, Wazir Advisors will deliver a special speech on the status of the Indian and global textile industry, the opportunities that could rise due to the recently concluded FTAs., the sectors that would grow and how to plan for investments.

For the first time in the history of TexFair, SIMA is set to conduct AI-Tex Summit, an extremely informative conference to brief the participants about the impact of Artificial Intelligence and Automation in Textile sector. It will be held on March 6th from 2 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.
