The Logistics and Supply Chain Club of KV Institute of Management and Information Studies organised an insightful industrial visit for its II MBA students to St. John’s Port, ICD Corporate Office, and Port Operations at Tuticorin.
The visit aimed to provide students with real-time exposure to port operations, logistics infrastructure, cargo handling procedures, and port management systems.
During the day-long program, students observed the intricate processes of cargo movement, including container handling, customs clearance, and documentation for international trade.
They also gained a deeper understanding of global trade compliance practices and how logistics technology integrates with operational efficiency in maritime trade.
The experience bridged the gap between academic learning and industry practice, enabling students to relate classroom concepts such as supply chain coordination, reverse logistics, and multimodal transport to real-world applications.
Faculty coordinators appreciated the port authorities for their cooperation and hospitality, which made the visit both educational and inspiring.
The event reinforced the institute’s commitment to experiential learning and preparing students for leadership roles in the logistics and supply chain sector.
