The Youth Red Cross Society (YRC) and the PG and Research Department of Botany of Kongunadu Arts and Science College, jointly organised “Golden Hearts – Caring for Our Elders 2026” at Viswanathan Chettiar Old Age Home on Thursday.
The programme aimed to promote love, compassion, dignity, and quality of life for elderly people, with the theme “Ensuring Dignity, Compassion, and Quality of Life for Elderly People.”
Abdul Kaffoor, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, delivered the welcome address, while Bojan, Incharge of Viswanathan Chettiar Old Age Home, felicitated the gathering and appreciated the college’s initiative.
A total of 34 elderly residents and 20 students participated in the programme.
Research scholars, Arun, Sundar, Ashlin, and Nandini also took part in the event.
The programme highlighted the importance of elderly care, companionship, health awareness, and social responsibility among students.
Thenmozhi, Head of the Department of Botany, proposed the vote of thanks.
