The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Curriculum Development Cell of Kongunadu Arts and Science College organized Seven-Days Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “From Knowledge to Competence: Redefining Teaching, Research & Innovation” from 01.06.2026 to 08.06.2026.

The Faculty Development Programme (FDP) was inaugurated on 1st June 2026. Dr. V. Sangeetha, Principal, extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Dr. C. A. Vasuki, Secretary and Director, delivered the presidential address, followed by the inaugural address by Dr. M. G. Sethuraman, Professor Emeritus, Gandhigram Rural Institute, Dindigul. The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by                 Dr. K. Thenmozhi, Convenor, CDC.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation of 150 members of faculty, research scholars, and academicians from various institutions. Distinguished resource persons and experts from across the country delivered insightful lectures and interactive sessions on innovative teaching methodologies, research enhancement, curriculum design &  development, academic leadership, emerging technologies coupled to  innovation and interdisciplinary/multidisciplinary approaches in higher education.

The FDP served as a dynamic platform for knowledge sharing and professional enrichment. The sessions emphasized outcome-based education, research ethics, innovation in pedagogy, publication strategies, digital learning tools, and competency-based teaching practices. Participants  were actively engaged through discussions, activities, and collaborative learning experiences throughout the programme.

The programme concluded with a valedictory function. Dr. M. Vigneshwaran, Coordinator, IQAC, presented the comprehensive report of the programme. The valedictory address was delivered by Dr. F. X. Lovelina Little Flower, Professor, Department of Social Work, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. Participants shared their feedback on the FDP, reflecting on its impact and effectiveness. The proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. K. Sumangala, Coordinator, SF stream.

Overall, the FDP proved to be a meaningful academic endeavour that strengthened professional competence and inspired educators to strive for excellence in teaching, research, and innovation.
