Round 2 of the JK Tyre Racing Championship 2025 is set to take place at the Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore, on September 27 and 28. Over two days, drivers and riders will compete in the JK Tyre Novice Cup, the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, and the opening round of the much-awaited single-make Levitas Cup.

Carrying forward its legacy of promoting motorsport for 28 years, JK Tyre continues to shape the future of Indian racing by providing aspiring and professional racers with a competitive platform. With strong participation from across the country and a packed grid in all categories, the penultimate round promises high-octane action for motorsport fans.

Making its season debut, the JK Tyre Levitas Cup will feature 14 identically prepared Maruti Suzuki Ignis race cars. This category introduces a level playing field, allowing talent to take centre stage.

The grid features a mix of rookie racers and gentlemen drivers, bringing together fresh energy and experience. While the stock Ignis comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 82 bhp, the race-spec version has received significant performance upgrades, including a standalone ECU, cold air intake, and a free-flow exhaust system.

In the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, presented by JK Tyre, the Pro-Am format returns with its signature intensity. In the Professional class, Anish Shetty from Bengaluru leads with 30 points after a dominant Round 1 performance.

He is followed by Mumbai’s Kayan Patel with 19 points and defending champion Navaneeth Kumar of Pondicherry with 12 points. The Amateur class sees Bryan Nicholas from Pondicherry in the lead with a perfect 36 points, while Johring Warisa (27) and Saran Kumar (19) are not far behind, setting up a close title battle.

The JK Tyre Novice Cup, India’s entry-level single-seater series powered by 1300cc Suzuki Swift engines, continues to spotlight young talent. Teenage racer Bhuvan Bonu of Team MSport delivered a commanding performance in the opening round, finishing with 30 points. However, the competition remains tight as Prathik Ashok of Bengaluru trails by just 17 points, and Navi Mumbai’s Ojas Surve sits at 15 points. Both racers, representing Team DTS Racing, finished close behind Bonu and are well within striking distance heading into Round 2.

As championship battles intensify across all three categories, this weekend is expected to deliver edge-of-the-seat racing. From teenage sensations in the Novice Cup to seasoned pros and ambitious amateurs in the Royal Enfield Continental GT Cup, and the debut of the Levitas Cup shaping the next generation of touring car racers, the event promises an adrenaline-fuelled experience for motorsport fans.
