Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts & Science for Women, School of Commerce, organised a two-day International Conference on “Global Supply Chain Realignment: Opportunities for India in the China Plus One Era” (ICGSC 2026) on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The conference was sponsored by the Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA), New Delhi, in association with the Chennai Centre for China Studies (C3S), Chennai. The conference aimed to examine emerging shifts in global supply chains and the opportunities they create for India.
The inaugural session commenced with an address by Chitra, Principal of the college, followed by a special address by Sanjeev Kumar, Senior Research Fellow, ICWA.
The keynote addresses were delivered by Srinivas, Visiting Research Professor, East Asian Institute, National University of Singapore (NUS), and Darwin Joseph, Dean, Management Development Institute of Singapore.
Eminent experts from India and abroad delivered technical addresses on global economic shifts, the China Plus One strategy, India’s competitive advantages, geopolitical tensions, technology and sustainable supply chains, manufacturing opportunities, and prospects for MSMEs, start-ups, and young professionals.
The conference also provided a platform for scholarly deliberations, featuring 116 paper presentations from 34 institutions and facilitating academic-industry dialogue on India’s evolving role in global supply chains.
