To mark the 79th Independence Day celebrations, Shri Nehru Maha Vidyalaya (SNMV) College of Arts and Science celebrated Independence Day on 15th August 2025.

The National Flag was hoisted by the chief guest, Captain Mathews (Retd), along with other dignitaries. This was followed by a parade by the NCC Cadets of SNMV and a special pledge administered by the NSS unit of SNMV.

On this patriotic occasion, Subramani, Principal of the college, welcomed the gathering with a heartfelt remembrance of the Indian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

Mahaveer Bothra, President of CWA, SNMV, presided over the event and highlighted the importance of India’s independence, culture, and people.

Sunilkumar Nahata, Secretary of CWA, SNMV, emphasized the value of the nation and the tireless dedication of its people.

Bharathkumar Jagamani, Joint Secretary, SNMV CAS, felicitated the gathering and stated that every Indian must remember and honour the country’s brave warriors.

The chief guest, Captain Mathews, praised the Elixir of Energy of an independent India. He shared a reflective note on the dedication and sacrifices made by freedom fighters and reminded the audience to carry the spirit of patriotism into every aspect of life.

Sheethal Mehta and Abhay Jain, GC Members of CWA, also graced the occasion with their presence.

A cultural programme by the students followed, rekindling the spirit of freedom among the audience.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Muthukumar, Director, SNMV IM. The management, staff, and students participated in the celebration with great joy and pride.
