The inaugural ceremony of the Ilamthamizh Bharathi Mandram was held on Wednesday at the school campus of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Ajjanur, Coimbatore, recently under the theme “Anbin Ainthinai” (The Five Aspects of Love).
The event was organised to commemorate the birth anniversary of Kamarajar, who promoted education by implementing the educational visions of Mahakavi Bharathiyar, and to celebrate the pride and glory of Tamil culture and heritage.
Students delivered speeches paying tribute to Kamarajar and Mahakavi Bharathiyar. The programme was further enriched by dance performances based on Ainthinai (the five landscapes), Bharathiyar’s songs, Valli Thirumanam (the wedding of Valli), and the traditional Valli Kummi folk dance.
The Head of the Tamil Department at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, who attended as the chief guest, highlighted the significance and depth of the historic quote, “Yaadhum Oore; Yaavarum Keelir” (“Every country is my country; everyone is my kinsman”).
The event witnessed participation from the principals of both BVB Matriculation and CBSE schools, Tamil Department faculty members from both campuses, and students from three schools — BVB CBSE, BVB Matriculation Ajjanur, and BVB R.S. Puram.
