The Department of Catering & Hotel Management at Hindusthan College of Arts & Science secured multiple medals at the 7th Edition of the SICA Culinary Olympiad & Exhibition 2025, held at the Chennai Trade Centre from 19th to 21st September 2025.
The event was endorsed by the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) and is known as India’s first WACS-endorsed culinary competition. It brought together participants from various parts of the country, including students and professionals from the culinary field.

The students from the department won a total of 23 medals in different categories:
- Gold – 1
- Silver – 3
- Bronze – 9
- Merit – 10
The competitions featured a range of culinary categories such as pastry and bakery displays, regional and international cuisines, buffet setups, plated appetisers, dress-the-cake, fruit and vegetable carving, and live cooking sessions.
The SICA Culinary Olympiad is considered one of the key platforms in the country for culinary students to present their skills and techniques in front of chefs and judges from the industry and international organisations.
This accomplishment reflects the department’s focus on skill development and practical training, in line with the college’s objective to prepare students for professional roles in the hospitality and culinary sectors.
