Hindusthan College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore, in association with the Department of Commerce and Commerce PA & Yuva Club of the College organized a lecture on “Sensitizing Youth towards Disability and Inclusion” recently.  

The session aimed to create awareness about the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and promote inclusion in society.

Priya, Head, Department of Commerce and Commerce PA & ACCA delivered the welcome address. She emphasized the importance of fostering a compassionate society where individuals with disabilities receive equal opportunities.

Swarnalatha, Founder of Swarga Foundation, Coimbatore, was the guest speaker.  she shared her experiences and insights on the need for accessibility, empathy, and inclusion in various aspects of life.

In her address, Swarnalatha highlighted the struggles faced by people with disabilities and the significance of inclusive policies in education, employment, and public spaces. She encouraged students to become advocates for change by promoting accessibility and equal rights.

The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating in discussions and expressing their thoughts on disability inclusion.

“The lecture served as an eye-opener for students, inspiring them to contribute towards building an inclusive society where individuals with disabilities are valued and supported,” said the organisers.
