Marking World Heart Day and the golden jubilee of the Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery Department at G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital (GKNMH), the department, in collaboration with the Department of Vascular Surgery, organised a heart health awareness rally on 28th September 2025.
The rally aimed to educate the public on heart health and was led by Dr. Chandrasekar, Chairman of the department. Doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff participated in the event, reinforcing the importance of preventive care and regular check-ups.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Chandrasekar stressed the significance of early detection and lifestyle management in reducing the risk of heart disease. He encouraged the public to take proactive steps in maintaining heart health.
As the department marks 50 years of dedicated service, the event served to highlight GKNMH’s long-standing commitment to delivering advanced cardiac care to the community.
The rally was well received, with many participants pledging to prioritise their heart wellness. The celebration not only marked a key milestone for the department but also underscored the hospital’s ongoing efforts to promote health and well-being in the wider community, noted the hospital.
