As part of the 2025 World Health Day celebrations, AGs Master Health Check-up Center, a unit of AGs Healthcare, Coimbatore, has rolled out a special initiative offering a free cardio-diabetic screening package for young adults.

The package, worth Rs. 3,500, is available to individuals aged between 30 and 45 years.

Speaking at a press conference, Dr. Adityan Guhan, Director of AGs Healthcare, announced that the comprehensive package includes blood tests for diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol checks, kidney function tests, complete blood and urine examinations, ECG, and ECHO.

The package also includes a compulsory physician consultation, along with optional consultations in dermatology, gynaecology, and urology.

The program is open to the public for a week, from April 7 to April 12, and is available on a first- come, first-served basis. Registrations are limited to 50 people per day.

Dr. Guhan highlighted the focus behind this initiative, citing a nationwide study which revealed that 4.5 million young adults aged between 25 and 40 have suffered sudden cardiac deaths; 4 million of whom had no prior symptoms of heart disease.

He explained that high stress levels, irregular sleep patterns, excessive screen time, especially at night, and unhealthy diets rich in ultra-processed and sugary or salty foods, coupled with a lack of physical activity, are major contributors to rising cases of diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease among the youth. He also added that stroke cases are increasing among the youth.

“This package is meant to help young adults know their current health condition and take preventive steps or begin early management (if needed), which could greatly improve their quality of life,” said Dr. Adityan Guhan.

“What we are trying to achieve at AGs Healthcare is to generate maximum awareness about the master health check-up, as it has a great potential to reduce the unwanted loss of life. We only want the patients to develop the practice of going for an annual master health check-up so that they can lead a better life.

We urge them to take it at any reputable centers. We don’t ask the public to only visit us. There is no such objective here. The goal is to generate awareness – that’s the bottom line,” he said.

The initiative also aims to promote the importance of annual master health check-ups, particularly for those in the 30 to 45 age group. AGs Healthcare is encouraging the public to prioritize regular screenings to detect and address health issues at an early stage.

Participants of this program will also receive 20% discount on any additional lab investigations and 15% discount on standard medications. Dr. Guhan added that registrations will be strictly on a first- come, first-served basis and that no personal recommendations will be entertained.
