DJ Academy of Design, Coimbatore, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) – Young Indians (Yi) to promote design education and create awareness about creative career opportunities among students in and around Coimbatore.
The MoU was signed by Vydianathan Ramaswami, Dean of DJ Academy of Design, a unit of the GKD Charity Trust, and Neil Kikani, Chair of Yi-CII Coimbatore.
Under the collaboration, both institutions will jointly promote design as a viable career option through outreach programmes, workshops, and awareness initiatives for school and college students. The partnership will also encourage engagement with art, craft, theatre, and visual media, helping to strengthen the link between academia and industry.
Representatives from both organisations said the collaboration is a timely step towards guiding students in making informed career choices and building a strong design ecosystem between academia and industry in the Coimbatore region.
Established in 2004, the DJ Academy of Design is a recognised institution in design education. Young Indians, an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), works to empower young professionals and entrepreneurs for nation-building.
