The Coimbatore District Police has launched “Kovai Digi Cop,” a WhatsApp-based chatbot aimed at promoting citizen-centric policing and enhancing public safety.
By sending a “Hi” message to 9840091100, residents can access around 10 different police services, including filing complaints and seeking emergency assistance directly through WhatsApp.
The chatbot enables citizens to locate night round officers, pay traffic fines, share information, report cyber fraud, access safety tips, and avail free legal aid services. The platform supports communication in both English and Tamil.
The initiative was jointly launched by Pavankumar Giriyappanavar, Coimbatore District Collector; Saravana Sundar, Inspector General of Police, West Zone; Sivaguru Prabakaran, Corporation Commissioner and Karthikeyan, Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore District.
